HISTORICAL FOUNDATION

PERKASIE PARK

ABOUT

The Perkasie Park Historical Foundation was established in 2017 to provide guidance and funding to the Park in the preservation of its fascinating history and its 62 historic structures. The Park was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2016 by the US Department of the Interior. The Foundation supports projects which help to educate the public about the historical significance of the Park to the growth of the Pennridge community, and its prominent role in the 19th century camp-meeting movement. The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) corporation and all contributions received are fully tax-deductible.

FOUNDATION PROJECTS

Perkasie Park Museum

The Foundation has purchased Cottage #33 in Perkasie Park; this cottage will need repairs and restoration work including installation of a new roof, reworked plumbing, and electrical service. The Park's collection of historical documents, photos and artifacts will be displayed in this museum, which will be manned by volunteers and open as scheduled or by appointment. All contributions of historical Perkasie Park memorabilia will be gratefully accepted.

Perkasie Park History Book

The Foundation is currently preparing a book about Perkasie Park's long history, with chapters on the Park's founding and founders; cottages and cottage owners; mishaps, including the two devastating Park fires; Park buildings; sports and eating at the Park; and the use of the Park for Perkasie community events, like graduations, family reunions, and holiday celebrations.

Founders' Day

Together with the Perkasie Park Association, each year we open our privately owned Victorian camp meeting grounds to the public for its Founders' Day celebration. The event is free and occurs rain or shine. Visitors can take part in a self-guided tour of the Park during the day, visit select cottages, and learn more about the park's history and impact on the community.

Ghost Tour

Each September, fright fans and history buffs are invited to the Perkasie Park Ghost Tour that explores the park's paranormal history. This ticketed event includes a guided tour, historic storytelling throughout the grounds, and reenactor tales of cottagers of the past.

SUPPORT THE PPHF

The Perkasie Park Historical Foundation was formed in 2017 as a 501(c)(3) corporation to help educate the public about the Park's contribution to local history, and to provide funding for and facilitate the continued maintenance and restoration of the Park's structures. Perkasie Park played a major role in the early growth of Perkasie and the Pennridge area, annually attracting thousands of visitors from Philadelphia and eastern Pennsylvania.

Your contribution will help maintain our program and is tax deductible. Your support is deeply appreciated. The Foundation is managed and operated by volunteers, and 100% of the money raised is spent on our educational and restoration efforts.

For a small annual fee, you can also join the Foundation and participate in Park events.
